Skylark Consulting is a small consulting firm based in Tucson, Arizona. We specialize in cultural resource reviews, collections management, technical assistance and museum consulting. Partners Marty McCune and Jerry Kyle have over seventy years of combined experience with historic and cultural resources, and infuse every project with their passion for making history accessible and interesting for everyone. Skylark Consulting can do everything from National Register historic district nominations to interpretive signage and exhibit design. Our team has worked with (and for) museums, private consulting firms, educational institutions, and government and military agencies. We know how to ask the right questions and work with agencies to get projects done on time and within budget.
National Register of Historic Places Nominations - From Scottsdale's small Village Grove to Tucson's Harold Bell Wright Estates, we know the ins and outs of the nomination process, and ensure that significant places receive the recognition and protection they deserve.
Archival Assessment & Processing - From Alaska's mining history to the Tucson area's ranching heritage, we ensure that archival collections will be preserved, organized and accessible for generations to come.
Historic Interpretation - From re-creating a 1930s lawyer's office, to producing interpretive signage for the Chinese Historical Society of Tucson, we make history both interesting and educational.
Training and Technical Assistance - From lecturing at the University of Arizona and Brodsky School of Real Estate to the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions Commission Assistance and Mentoring Program (CAMP), we're working to train the next generation of preservationists and give community leaders the tools they need to preserve our cultural heritage.
